Out of the East Riding, into the current

Riverseed is the progressive melodic ambient and indie-folk project of myself, Stuart James Wright. Based in the historic market town of Howden, East Riding of Yorkshire, Riverseed creates music that mirrors the landscape of the North—expansive, textured, and deeply rooted.

Blending the fingerpicked intimacy of folk with the soaring, cinematic layers of progressive ambient music, Riverseed’s sound is designed for the quiet hours. It is music for the journey—capturing the tension between the stillness of the earth and the constant movement of the water.

After years of performing under my own name, I have founded Riverseed as a space to explore more immersive, atmospheric compositions. It is an invitation to slow down, breathe, and listen to the seeds of melody taking root.
